J.M. Smucker Company (SJM - Get Report)  -- known for its Smucker's jams and Jif peanut butters -- is expected to report quarterly earnings of $1.95 a share on sales of $1.9 billion before the market opens on Thursday, based on a FactSet survey of 14 analysts.

In the same period a year ago the company posted earnings of $1.93 a share on sales of $1.8 billion.

The stock has risen 17.2% since the company last reported earnings on Feb. 26.

Quarterly estimates have risen less than 1 cent a share in the past month.

J.M. Smucker is currently trading at a price-to-forward-earnings ratio of 14.8 based on the 12-month estimates of 15 analysts surveyed by FactSet.

The company closed up .24% to $124.60 on the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday.
