Javier Palomarez, CEO of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, resigned from his position on the president's diversity coalition Tuesday in protest of the Trump administration's decision to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the announcement Tuesday after months of speculation that the Trump administration would give the Obama-era program the boot.

"This disgraceful action goes against not only the values of this country, but also against the promise of this administration to focus homeland security resources towards individuals who have committed violent crimes and pose a threat to communities across the country," Palomarez' statement said.
