Amtrust Financial Services
a New York-based insurer, was higher after full-year income from continuing operations rose to $48.9 million, or 86 cents a share. Fourth-quarter per-share earnings were 29 cents, 11 cents better than estimates. Amtrust's stock was adding 39 cents, or 3.7%, to $11.04.
slid on word stockholder Leonard Green & Partners will sell about 5.5 million Dollar shares for $153.5 million, slashing its holdings to less than 1% from 23%. The sale was made pursuant to Dollar's Dec. 21 shelf filing. Shares of the Pennsylvania-based lender were down $2.01, or 6.9%, to $27.34.
