The Federal Communications Commission said today that it will vote in April to overturn a 2016 ruling enacted by the Obama administration which limits the number of television stations companies can acquire, according to Reuters.

The FCC revised its rules last year that permitted companies to only partially count individual stations against the limit on ownership to stations covering 39% of U.S. television households.

The new regulations do not require any firm to sell existing stations but could prevent new acquisitions.
