Thursday's ETF Winners & Losers

Housing funds are higher.

Exchange-traded funds tracking the housing sector were among the top performers Thursday after the Commerce Department said new-home sales rose 5.3% in September. News that the median sales price plummeted 9.7% from August, the biggest drop since 1970, wasn't deterring buyers.

ETF was adding 2.5% to $35.39, and the

ETF was gaining 1.6% to $39.98.

ETF gained 2.2% thanks to an advance of 5.1% in holding

. The ETF was rising by $1.11 to $52.56.

was adding 1.5% to $101.10. The

SPDR Retail

was up 1.3% to $41.69, and the

was tacking on 1.1% to $19.20.
