ETFs related to housing construction were among the top performers Thursday. Among individual names,

ETF was higher by 79 cents, or 2.3%, to $35.30. The
iShares Dow Jones U.S. Home Construction
ETF was adding 74 cents, or 1.9%, to $39.78.
Energy exploration-related ETFs jumped after the Energy Department's weekly petroleum inventory report was released. Crude stocks rose by 2.4 million barrels last week, and gasoline inventories increased by 300,000 barrels. Distillate stocks, however, fell by 1.6 million barrels. Initially, crude prices rose following the data, but oil was recently unchanged at $57.59 a barrel.
PowerShares Dynamic Energy Exploration
ETF was higher by 1.9% to $17.53. The
SPDR Oil & Gas Exploration & Production
ETF was climbing by 1.9% to $35.52. The
iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil Equipment Index
ETF was gaining 1.5% to $40.56.
Bundled securities tracking the retail sector were among Thursday's winners. Retail chain
surged 7% after topping fiscal fourth-quarter earnings estimates.
PowerShares Dynamic Retail
ETF was higher by 1.5% to $18.73. The
ETF was adding 1.4% to $40.99.
On the downside, the
PowerShares Dynamic Semiconductors
ETF was one of few losers. The ETF dipped 0.3% after holdings
both dropped 1.4%.
