Exchange-traded funds tracking precious metals were the top performers Friday as both gold and silver futures finished with gains. The

iShares Silver Trust

(SLV)

ETF was higher by 1.8% to $125.66. The

streetTRACKS Gold Shares

(GLD)

ETF was adding 0.3% to $61.57.

Retail ETFs were also trading higher. Among individual names,

J.C. Penney

(JCP)

was gaining 1.8%,

Nordstrom

(JWN)

was adding 1.7%,

Best Buy

(BBY)

was up 1.5%, and

Kohl's

(KSS)

was higher by 1.3%.

The

PowerShares Dynamic Retail

(PMR)

ETF was tacking on 0.9% to $19.63, and the

Retail HOLDRs

(RTH)

was higher by 0.4% to $99.32.

The

PowerShares Lux Nanotech

(PXN)

ETF was also gaining ground after holding

NVE Corp.

(NVEC)

rose 2.9%. The ETF was adding 9 cents, or 0.5%, to $17.30.

On the downside, the

B2B Internet HOLDRs

(BHH)

dropped as holdings

lost ground. The ETF was losing 3 cents, or 1.4%, to $2.16.

The

Wireless HOLDRs

(WMH)

ETF was also among the losers. Holdings

Research In Motion

(RIMM)

and

Qualcomm

(QCOM)

were lower by 2.7% and 1.4%, respectively. The ETF was falling by 75 cents, or 1.2%, to $59.90.
