ETFs tracking Internet stocks were among Friday's winners. The
B2B Internet HOLDRs
( BHH) ETF was the day's best performer, as major holding
( CKFR) jumped 4.5%. The ETF was recently up 7 cents, or 3.4%, to $2.11.
In addition, the
Internet Infrastructure HOLDRs
( IIH) ETF was also higher.
( BEAS) rose 4.6%, helping the ETF tack on 9 cents, or 1.9%, to $4.87.
( HHH) ETF rose 1.6% to $48.61. Holdings
all added 2.4% or more.
Software ETFs were also trading higher. Among companies,
was surging 6.3%,
was recently higher by 5.9%,
was gaining 4.7% and
( ERTS) was adding 4.6%.
PowerShares Dynamic Software
ETF was rising by 1.9% to $17.47. The
iShares Goldman Sachs Software Index
ETF was trading up 1.5% to $40.55. The
ETF was adding 1.3% to $36.16.
On the weak side, the session's worst performers were related to precious metals, as gold and silver futures sank. The
iShares Silver Trust
ETF was dropping $4.07, or 3.2%, to $121.63. The
iShares COMEX Gold
ETF was losing 69 cents, or 1.1%, to $60.62. The
streetTRACKS Gold Shares
ETF was down 60 cents, or 1%, to $60.65.
ETFs tracking oil services were also weaker, as crude prices sank below the $67 a barrel level. Crude fell after
said its Prudhoe Bay pipeline in Alaska may reach full capacity by the end of October.
iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration Index
ETF was falling by 2.8% to $46.90. The
PowerShares Dynamic Oil & Gas Services
ETF was sinking by 2.4% to $19.17, and the
Oil Service HOLDRs
ETF was losing 1.8% to $132.66.
