iShares MSCI Italy Index Fund (EWI) - Get iShares MSCI Italy ETF Report -3.7

European stock markets were battered today and the pain can be felt across a wide collection of EU-tracking ETFs. Spain and Italy have become major factors to watch as yields have surged and sovereign debt fears have dominated headlines.

Market Vectors Solar Energy ETF (KWT) -3.4%

With the weekend approaching, clouds have gathered over the solar energy sector, leading KWT and the Guggenheim Solar ETF (TAN) to notable losses. This downturn has put an end to both funds' multiple-day win streaks. In the days ahead, it will be interesting to see if the funds will retreat to previous lows, or if this weakness is temporary. Conservative investors are best off watching from the sidelines.
