Equifax (EFX) - Get Report is nearing agreement on a $700 million settlement of privacy claims stemming from a 2017 breach that left Social Security numbers and other data for almost 150 million people open on the internet, according to a published report late Friday.

The deal would settle claims by the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as state attorneys general, The Wall Street Journal Reported.

The hack forced big changes at the credit bureau company, leading to the resignation of its then CEO, and prompting intense scrutiny from lawmakers.

Equifax shares fell $1.94 to $137.30 Friday.
