The Golden Sunlight gold mine could close next year. "Golden Sunlight is already starting post closure reclamation," Taylor said. "We were planning on closing it but increased power costs may bring about an earlier demise."

Shares of Placer Dome fell 24 cents, or 2.4%, to $9.92 in regular session
