Cannabis stocks rose Wednesday amid broad market gains and ahead of the latest financial results from industry leader Canopy Growth (CGC - Get Report) .

Among notable cannabis stocks, 10 rose while five fell.

Tilray shares (TLRY - Get Report) rose $4.24, or 9.32%, to $49.71.

Tera Tech shares (TRTC) fell 3 cents, or 4.88%, to 58.5 cents.

The Alternative Harvest ETF (MJ - Get Report) rose 55 cents, or 1.72%, to $32.53.

The AdvisorShares Pure Cannabis ETF (YOLO) rose 44.99 cents, or 1.95%, to $23.56.

The Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF (HMLSF) rose 29.92 cents, or 2.12%, to $14.42.

Large-cap stocks with notable cannabis initiatives rose.

Shares of Anheuser-Busch InBev  (BUD) rose $1.82, or 2.07%, to $89.74. The company is in a joint venture with Tilray to develop cannabis beverages.

Shares of Scotts Miracle-Gro  (SMG - Get Report) fell 22 cents, or 0.22%, to $98.26. The company's Hawthorne Gardening subsidiary supplies hydroponic growing equipment to cannabis growers.

Canopy Growth is expected to report a loss of $69.3 million, or 19 cents a share, on sales of $67.7 million later on Thursday, based on a FactSet survey of 12 analysts.

In the same period a year ago, the company posted a loss of 23.33 cents a share on sales of $17.2 million. It reported net income of $1.2 million.

The stock has fallen 10.7% since the company last reported earnings on Feb. 14.

In the upcoming quarter analysts are forecasting a loss of $61.4 million, or 18 cents a share, on sales of $93.2 million.
