Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Microsoft Corporation Report  continued its track record of beating expectations when it reported its September quarter earnings after the close on Wednesday.

The software giant reported earnings per share of $1.38 versus consensus expectations of $1.25, according to FactSet, while quarterly revenue of $33.06 billion beat estimates of $32.15 billion.

Despite the beat, shares of Microsoft were falling 1.2% to $135.56 after hours.
