The company earned $548.5 million, or 41 cents a share, in the third quarter, in line with the 14-analyst consensus estimate given by

. The fast food giant earned $540.9 million, or 39 cents a share, a year earlier.
Systemwide sales for the quarter rose 8% in constant currencies to $10.51 billion from $9.99 billion a year ago. McDonald's said total revenue for the third quarter rose to $3.75 billion from $3.44 billion. Systemwide sales in Europe fell to $2.45 billion from $2.46 billion a year ago, while sales in the Asia/Pacific region rose to $1.82 billion from $1.73 billion.
