, a supplier of products to semiconductor makers, beat Wall Street's expectations for the latest second quarter of fiscal 2001.

Shares of DuPont Photomasks were recently up $3.50, or 5.1%, to $72.69, after having traded as low as $68.19 this morning in

Nasdaq

activity.

The Round Rock, Texas, company said net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2001 was $11.9 million, or 64 cents a share, compared with $4.3 million, or 27 cents a share, earned in the same period in fiscal 2000. A consensus estimate of six analysts polled by

First Call/Thomson Financial

estimated that the company would earn 61 cents a share in the second quarter of fiscal 2001.

DuPont Photomasks also said revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2001 came to $106.8 million, 45% above revenue of $73.8 million a year ago.
