Shares of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) fell in after-hours trading after the company posted disappointing fourth-quarter financial results.

The company reported adjusted earnings per share of 38 cents on revenue of $3.35 billion.

Analysts had been expecting the company to make 63 cents a share on revenue of $3.49 billion.

Shares fell $1.47, or 3%, to $47.61 in after-hours trading.
