College Football will be celebrating the successful conclusion of an otherwise turbulent season on Monday with the 2021 College Football National Championship game between third ranked Ohio State University and top-ranked Alabama.

While the game is certainly poised to be a financial windfall for the NCAA and the participating schools, there are still long-term financial issues facing college sports, according to John WallStreet of Sportico.

Between an aging donor base and the loss of local sponsorship revenue due to the coronavirus , college football has some hurdles ahead.
