Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that he would force the Senate away from a simple majority vote on President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, potentially initiating a filibuster which would halt a confirmation vote and force 60% the 100 seat chamber to vote on whether to overcome the procedural maneuver.

"After careful deliberation, I have concluded that I cannot support Judge Neil Gorsuch's nomination to the Supreme Court," Schumer said. "He will have to earn 60 votes for confirmation. My vote will be 'no,' and I urge my colleagues to do the same."
