has been granted approval from the state of Pennsylvania to open the doors of its Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem on Friday.
Sands Bethlehem is located on the former site of the Bethlehem Steel plant, an hour from Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York. The new casino will debut with 3,000 slot machines and feature Emeril Lagasse's first restaurant in the Northeast.
Shares of Las Vegas Sands were trading down 5.3% to $9.27 shortly before 2:30 p.m. EDT.
