Stocks of companies that supply parts and services to Apple Inc. (AAPL - Get Report) were mixed Thursday.

Among notable small-cap stocks of companies supplying Apple, 10 rose while 19 fell. R.R. Donnelley & Sons shares (RRD - Get Report) rose 13 cents, or 6.19%, to $2.23. Chemours shares (CC - Get Report) fell 86 cents, or 6.09%, to $13.25.

Among mid-cap Apple suppliers, six rose while 16 fell. Micron Technology shares  (MU - Get Report) rose 61 cents, or 1.38%, to $44.78. The company supplies memory chips used in Apple iPhones. BYD ADRs  (BYDDY) fell 50.5 cents, or 4.67%, to $10.31. The company supplies handset components.

Among large-cap companies with significant Apple business, two rose while five fell. QUALCOMM shares  (QCOM - Get Report) rose 45 cents, or 0.59%, to $77.15. Sony ADRs  (SNE - Get Report) fell $1.88, or 3.32%, to $54.77.

Apple itself fell 18 cents, or 0.08%, to $212.46.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 28.82 points, or 0.36%, to 7,991.39.

Twenty-Nine Apple suppliers outperformed the Nasdaq, while 33 lagged.

The S&P 500 index fell 1.48 points, or 0.05%, to 2,922.95.
