ASE Technology Holding ADRs (ASX - Get Report) fell 9 cents, or 2.44%, to $3.60.

Among mid-cap Apple suppliers, six rose while 15 fell.

Hon Hai Precision Industry GDR shares (HNHPF) rose 7.7 cents, or 1.62%, to $4.83. The company supplies electronics manufacturing services to Apple and other electronics companies.

Infineon Technologies ADRs (IFNNY) fell 61 cents, or 3.79%, to $15.49. The company supplies chips used in iPads.

Among large-cap companies with significant Apple business, four rose while three fell.

Sony ADRs (SNE - Get Report) rose 77 cents, or 1.5%, to $52.10.

Texas Instruments shares (TXN - Get Report) fell 59 cents, or 0.55%, to $106.72.

Apple itself rose $1.15, or 0.6%, to $193.89.

The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 48.37 points , or 0.62%, to 7,845.02.

Thirteen Apple suppliers outperformed the Nasdaq, while 49 lagged.

The S&P 500 index rose 2.69 points , or 0.09%, to 2,889.67.
