
Apollo Reportedly May Bid for GE Jet-Leasing Business
Private equity firm is reportedly in talks to line up funds to go after part or all of GE's jet-leasing operations.
Apollo Global Management is considering a bid for some or all of General Electric Co.'s (GE) - Get Report jet-leasing business, according to a published report.
The private equity firm is in discussions with financiers to secure funds for a possible purchase, Bloomberg reported.
The jet business could be worth as much as $40 billion, according to the report.
Shares of GE rose 2.5% in after-hours trading Friday.
The once-mighty industrial giant has seen its shares collapse over the past two years under the weight of ill-timed acquisitions and shifting businesses.
