BOSTON (TheStreet) -- AirTran( AAI) was one of several stocks poised to move on above-average volume Monday after Southwest Airlines (LUV) - Get Southwest Airlines Co. Report said it will acquire the company in a $1.4 billion cash and stock deal.


shareholders will receive $7.69 per share, a premium of 69% over AirTran's closing price Friday. Southwest will also assume AirTran's debt, which brings the total cost of the deal to approximately $3.4 billion.

Shares of AirTran are rallying by $2.75, or 60.4%, to $7.30 in the premarket session. The average daily share volume for AirTran is 1.66 million.


YRC Worldwide

shares are jumping by 10 cents, or 37.3%, to 37 cents in the premarket session after the trucking company said Friday it has a tentative deal with the Teamsters union to address the company's competitiveness, re-entry into multi-employer pension funds and progress toward long-term growth. Details are expected after the deal is approved by union leadership committees. The average daily share volume for YRC Worldwide is 31.7 million.

Central Virginia Bankshares

( CVBK) rose by 24 cents, or 24%, to $1.24 in the Friday's after-market session after the company on Friday postponed its rights and stock offering, citing current market conditions. The bank said it expects to raise additional capital when market conditions improve. The average daily share volume for Central Virginia is 6,000.

Harvest Natural Resources


shares are surging by 82 cents, or 10.3%, to $8.75 in the premarket session after the petroleum exploration and production company said it has retained a financial advisor to explore strategic alternatives, which could include a sale or merger of the company. The average daily share volume for Harvest Natural is 179,000.

shares are rallying by 59 cents, or 9.9%, to $6.53 in the premarket session after the airline company was mentioned positively in
