Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was disqualified from running for president for another term by the country's vetting body the Interior Ministry. 

Ahmadinejad surprised people in the country when he announced his candidacy last week against the wishes of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Ahmadinejad was president of Iran from 2005 through 2013.
