Although summer is rapidly nearing the end, music festival season still has a lot more life left before it wraps up for good for the year.
The summer has seen some of the best that music festival history has had to offer, with countless sold-out festivals and record-breaking gross sales for festivals such as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
The fall season will likely give well-known events such as Lollapalooza and Outside Lands a run for their money, and with the already larger-than-life Desert Trip pushing crazy ticket prices on the resale market, the most popular festivals of the year may occur in the next couple of months.
Below is a festival guide for some of the top-priced events left this year, with ticket information provided by ticket aggregator TiqIQ.
1. Austin (Texas) City Limits
Weekend pass average price: $577
Cheapest weekend pass: $115
The music scene in Austin, Texas, will heat up late next month with the arrival of Austin City Limits over two weekends, Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9. The festival will take place in Zilker Park, and primary general admission passes are completely sold out.
On the secondary market, passes for ACL are averaging $557, with the cheapest weekend pass up for grabs for $115, for the first weekend.
ACL will host more than 130 artists across eight major stages. Performers will include Haim, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, LL Cool J, Major Lazer, Mumford & Sons, Radiohead and Young the Giant.
2. Desert Trip Music Festival in Indio, Calif.
Weekend pass average price: $2,250
Cheapest weekend pass: $519
In October, the music festival hype will hit a whole new level with Desert Trip. The festival, which will take place on Coachella grounds, will feature some of the biggest names in music history, including Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, the Who and Neil Young.
Like ACL, the festival is a three-day, two-weekend event that will be held on Oct. 7-9 and Oct. 14-16. Passes to Desert Trip have reached new heights, with face value tickets entirely sold out.
On the secondary market, three-day passes to Desert Trip are averaging a whopping $2,250 for both weekends combined, with the cheapest pass for either weekend going for $519.
3. The Meadows Music Festival in Queens, N.Y.
Weekend pass average price: $378
Cheapest weekend pass: $251
Not long after New York hosted one of its biggest music festivals, the Governor's Ball, festival organizers announced the first annual Meadows Music Festival. The two-day festival will be held on Oct. 1 and 2 at Citi Field, where the New York Mets play.
Two-day general admission passes cost $230, and VIP passes are going for as much as $1,600 on the primary market. On the resale market, two-day passes for the festival are averaging $378, with the cheapest pass available for $251.
Scheduled performers include Chance the Rapper, Grimes, Kygo, Bryson Tiller, Kamasi Washington, The Weeknd and Kanye West.
4. Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans
Weekend pass average price: $266
Cheapest weekend pass: $177
The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience is one of the biggest Halloween weekend bashes in the U.S., and with top acts like Arcade Fire, Tool, and The Weeknd headlining this year, it might be one of the best festival bargains, too.
The festival will kick off on Oct. 28-30 in City Park and will bring well over 65 bands and artists to the city. Passes went on sale in June, with early-bird passes selling out shortly after.
General-admission three-day passes are still available and are going for $140. On the resale market, three-day passes are averaging $266, with the cheapest pass up for grabs for $177.
Other artists such as Band of Horses, The Chainsmokers, G-Eazy and Anderson .Paak are also scheduled to perform.
