The benchmark ten-year bond yield for U.S. Treasury notes hits a nearly four-year high Monday, sending markets tumbling. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 were both falling 0.35% to 26,523 and 2,863, respectively, while the Nasdaq fell 0.28% to 7,485.
