NEW YORK (

TheStreet

) -- Retailers' social presence is becoming increasingly more important, and will be one of the major factors of a company's success in 2012.

While each retailer is using Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites in different ways, the No. 1 priority is to engage shoppers and get them to shop both online and in stores.

Given this, Klout, a firm that provides social media analytics, ranks the top 10 most influential retailers on social media for the holiday season. This list could be a first sign of which retailers will more quickly and efficiently adopt the integration of digital shopping.
