Week 9 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cameron Brate and Mark Walton
Here are your sleepers for week 9:
Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - MIA vs NYJ - No one really likes magicians or magic shows. Yes, you’ll tolerate them and every once in a while a magician like David Copperfield or Doug Henning will break out for 15 minutes of fame before going back to obscurity. In the end, it’s just fake trap doors and capes used by weirdos. It’s the same with Fitzmagic. We know he’s not for real, but this is the one Fitzmagic game this year. This is it. The Dolphins know this is one of their best chances to not go into the record books and steal a win. The Jets opened up as 6.5 point favorite, but that has been bid down to 3 as people bet Fitzpatrick will go off on his favorite team. The total has also moved up to 42.5. Fitzpatrick had a couple touchdowns against the Steelers D last week and will do even more this week against the Jets pass defense. It’s not a long-term solution, but good for a streamer.
Cameron Brate - TE- TB vs. SEA - I feel like Brate has been on sleeper lists his whole career. O.J. Howard is going to be out again. Seattle is giving up a surprising amount of points to opposing tight ends, ranking fourth-worst in that department. He’s a frequent red zone target for Winston too. He could shine while Seattle tries to shut down Evans and Godwin at WR.
Mark Walton - RB- MIA vs NYJ - This is the week for Dolphins to finally shine. The Jets D has been pretty good against the run, but the Dolphins are going to be amped for this one. With Kenyan Drake traded away and rookie Kalen Ballage looking like a bust, it’s Mark Walton’s turn. He’ll get some receiving targets from Fitzmagic as well.
