Week 3 Fantasy Football Injury Impact Report: Devastating Blow To Saquon Barkley

Katherine Ross

Quantity of injuries were down in Week 3 compared to the first two weeks of action but the quality of players that got injured sky-rocketed. Saquon Barkley a consensus top three pick in all fantasy football drafts will miss a minimum of four weeks due to a high ankle sprain.

The most frustrating injury to date happened this past weekend when Giants running back Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain. Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, a consensus second round pick, was injured in Week 1, but the Giants rusher is the first player of the 2019 season to get hurt that was a 1st Round selection and ultimately a top three pick in nearly every fantasy football draft. Barkley's high ankle sprain will cost him a minimum of four weeks with some analysts predicting he could miss up to eight weeks of action.

Bull Market Fantasy's Bill Enright and Sports Illustrated's Jim Day discuss Barkley and the rest of the injury fallout from Sunday's action in Week 3.

Saquon was one of the few elite backs most people didn't handcuff too.

The other difference compared to Hill is that it's easier to replace a WR compared to a RB.

Brutal loss for fantasy owners. Tough to recover from.

Imagine the joy of having the 1st round pick, taking a stud like Saquon only to be devastated three weeks into the season.
