There are some great moments in the history of NFL

There are some great moments in the history of National Football League (NFL), and we have narrowed the list down to the seven greatest moments by looking at specific things of benefit to both the NFL and NFL fans.

  1. National Football League is born (1922)

NFL was established by a group of seven men meeting in Canton, Ohio who decided to create a league of 10 teams playing in four states. Olympian legendary Jim Thorpe was one of the attendees, and they named the league American Professional Football Association (APFA) on September 17, 1920. The league lasted for two years before being reorganized into the NFL on June 24, 1922.

  1. Miami Dolphins Domination (1972)

The Miami Dolphins ruled the NFL undefeated from the start to the end in 1972 by 16 – 0, as well as winning the Super Bowl. The team lost the quarterback Bob Griese in the 5th week and was replaced by Earl Morrall. The Miami Dolphins played against the Washington Redskins in Los Angeles winning the game; the Dolphins dominated the game and muffed a field goal winning the game 14 – 7.

  1. The Meadowlands Miracle (1978)

The Meadowlands Miracle happened on November 19, 1978, where the New York Giants dominated the game and had to kill in the last minute to win the game. The team’s quarterback Joe Pisarcik groped the attempted hand-off as Philadelphia Eagles’ Herm Edwards scooped up the gift of the grope, and raced untouched to the end zone for a winning shock. From this point onwards when both teams found themselves in a similar situation, they went for the victory formation by always having one player remaining back to ensure the same thing does not repeat itself.

  1. Music City Miracle (2000)

Something peculiar always occurs when Buffalo Hills plays against Houston Oilers, and the Wild Card AFC playoff match on January 8, 2000, the Bills had just scored on a 41-yard field goal by Steve Christie to take a 16 – 15 lead with under 16 seconds left in the match. What the Bills only had was a kickoff, tackle the return man and subsequently knock down the Hail Mary pass to proceed to the next round of the playoffs. Instead, the Titans ran a trick play that cannot tell whether a lateral was or forward pass that can be debated for ages to come, and the Bills have never returned to the playoffs since this match.

  1. The Immaculate Reception (1972)

The Pittsburg Steelers hosted the Oakland Raiders on December 23, 1972, where the Raiders were up by a slim margin of 7 – 6 and seemed to dominate the game. It was the wackiest and craziest game in NFL history by Steelers winning the game 13 – 7 because of the Immaculate Reception. The Steelers had the ball on their 40-yard line with less than 30 seconds to go and no timeouts left; however, Terry Bradshaw yanked up a pass downfield, and the ball rebounded over Franco Harris.

About 1:30 was left in the game the New York Jets were leading the Oakland Raiders 32 – 29, and NBC unexpectedly cut away the broadcast to continue with their regular programming of the movie ‘Heidi’. Football fans became furious that they could not watch the conclusion of the game; however, the Raiders mounted a strong comeback in the game’s last 90 seconds winning the game 43 – 32.

  1. Creation of the Super Bowl (1967)

When AFC and NFL agreed to merge, the championship game between the two leagues was part of the agreement. The initial championship match was on January 15, 1967, and it was called the AFL – NFL World Championship Game where Green Bay Packers won Kansa City Chiefs 35 – 10 in the game.
