Week 9 Waiver Wire: Tight Ends

There's four teams on a bye in Week 9 and considering three of the four (Saints, Rams, Falcons) all have good offenses, fantasy football players will need to maximize their pickups on the waiver wire. The tight end position is always a thorn in the side of fantasy managers especially when scrambling for a bye-week filler.

This week there's a few tight ends worth grabbing but none more productive than Darren Fells. The Texans pass catcher scored four touchdowns and caught at least six passes in two of his last four outings. With Will Fuller (hamstring) out a few more weeks , DeShaun Watson will continue to utilize Fells' versatility especially in the red-zone.

Another tight end we are monitoring is Broncos rookie Noah Fant. In his first game without Emmanuel Sanders, the rookie tight end saw 8 targets. That’s a season high, as was his five  catches. . He has a bye in Week 10 but a good match-up in Week 9 against the Browns. So if you have Austin Hooper, Gerald Everett, or Jared Cook on a bye, Fant can be your Week 9 streamer.

Jets tight end Chris Herndon has yet to see the field, instead it's been Ryan Griffin getting all the love from quarterback Sam Darnold. Griffin caught all four of his targets in Week 8, two of which went for a touchdown and finished with 66 yards.
