Barkley is Back and Ready To Cage the Lions
Giants running back Saquon Barkley returned to action in Week 7 after sitting out the previous three weeks due to an ankle sprain. In Week 8 Barkley takes on a Lions defense that is giving up the 5th most points to opposing running backs, 5th most yards, and the 2nd most touchdowns on a weekly basis according to our partners at FantasySP. A consensus Top 3 pick in fantasy football drafts, Barkley is averaging 16.3 points in the PPR format which is 12th among all running backs.
We are putting the Giants rusher up against Halliburton for Week 8. Katherine Ross and Jim Cramer discussed the oil-field service company at length earlier in the week. You can watch Jim discussing Halliburton with Katherine in this video. Here's what Katherine is reporting about the multinational corporation:
The company said Monday that North America revenue in the third quarter was $2.9 billion, an 11% drop from the second quarter of 2019, "primarily associated with lower activity and pricing in pressure pumping and well construction services in North America land." International revenue was $2.6 billion, flat with the second quarter.
Now that he is five weeks removed from the ankle injury, can Barkley pick up the production and perform like the Top 3 RB we all expected? Considering the Lions defense has struggled against opposing running backs, it certainly seems like the week for Barkley to ramp up his stats. Then again the Giants offensive line has been playing so poorly, Barkley might not have much room to run.
Make your pick. Which side of this stock vs. stat match-up will come out on top in Week 8? Let us know in the comments below.
