It's time for another stock versus stat.
This time, we put Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott up against shares of Lam Research.
Lam Research, a holding in Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, has been on a tear this year. Shares of the company are up a shocking 99% year-to-date.
Lam trades under the ticker LRCX.
In fact, earlier this week, Lam also got a price target raise from Keybanc analysts.
"Based on fundamental drivers, strong execution, and recent conversations with the CFO, we maintain high conviction regarding LRCX outperformance as tailwinds accelerate. We're raising our price target to $313 [and we] remain Overweight," wrote analysts.
"LRCX is likely on track to meet or exceed its expansion goals. While the 2021 target model LRCX discussed in early 2018 is no longer valid because overall market demand has fallen, we believe its growth drivers are very much intact and likely tracking ahead in terms of magnitude," analysts continued.
But, what about Prescott? Can he beat the stock?
Bill Enright, co-host of Bull Market Fantasy, doesn't think that Lam's stellar year is enough to compete with the passing yards of the Cowboys quarterback. He pointed out that the Cowboys are playing the Bills at 4 p.m. E.T. on Thanksgiving and then said, "[The Cowboys] just got embarrassed by the Patriots. I'm going with Dak."
Cramer said, "Well, there we go."
Both said that they believed that Prescott has the ability to "go off this week."
Who would you pick? Dak Prescott or Lam Research?
