Stat Vs. Stock: Jim Cramer Picks Between Smuckers or Julio Jones
Let's talk about Smucker's.
The company makes jelly, coffee and...pet food?
So, let's put Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver, up against J.M. Smuckers.
Smucker's is trading around $107.
The stock is up around 14.5% year-to-date.
Earlier this week, Smucker's posted earnings.
The company posted earnings per share of $2.26, which beat the $2.13 estimate, in fiscal second-quarter 2020. Smuckers posted sales of $1.96 billion, which missed the $1.97 billion estimated by analysts.
Smucker's also posted guidance that disappointed earnings. It said that it expects to see sales down 3% this year, which is larger than the former forecast of sales down 1%.
"It's...coffee and pet food," said Cramer, with disdain.
He added that he wouldn't be surprised to see the stock go down to $99.
However, Julio Jones did not attend the Falcons practice on Tuesday.
Thanksgiving Day, the Falcons take on the New Orleans Saints in the primetime game at 8:20 p.m. E.T.
Both Cramer and Enright agreed that they'd rather go with Jones than Smucker's.
