Khalil Mack: The Best Linebacker in the NFL

During his first three years in the NFL, former Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman totaled 39 sacks, the fifth most for any player in the first three years of their career. Chicago Bears linebacker, highly regarded as one of the best linebackers in the NFL registered 30 sacks during his first three seasons.

Merriman joined Bull Market Fantasy and when asked by Jim Cramer who he likes to watch and who reminds Merriman of himself, the 2006 Defensive Rookie of the Year didn't hesitate to say it was Mack.

Since being traded to the Chicago Bears at the start of last season, Mack has registered 18 sacks in 22 games, nearly a one sack per game average. The Bears Defense isn't as dominant in 2019 as they were in 2018 perhaps due to the time they spend on the field. Due to their lackluster Offense, the Bears Defense is on the field for an average of 66 plays per game, seventh most in the NFL.

But Merriman says for a defender like Mack, that could be seen as a good thing considering it gives him more opportunities to make some highlight reel plays.

As Merriman describes, Mack is an unique linebacker, one that can do it all: get after the quarterback, stop the run, drop back in pass coverage, a skill-set that not every linebacker in the league possesses.

No. 1-1

Unless you get rid of the football in 2.5 secs or less like Jon Gruden had D. Carr do. If you get rid of the ball quickly, Khalil Mack is a complete non-factor.....his name won't be mentioned throughout the rest of the game.
