Professional Athletes LOVE Fantasy Football Just Like You
There's over 50 million playing fantasy football and part of that large contingent of fantasy football enthusiasts include about 15 major league baseball players from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Outfielder Joc Pederson joined Bull Market Fantasy and one thing was clear, Pederson LOVES fantasy football. As Jim Cramer and I learned after talking with the Dodgers power hitter, the team's fantasy league is incredibly competitive and apparently a lot of fun. Players ranging from NL MVP candidate Cody Bellinger to Walker Bueller all take part in the league. Bueller is serving as league commissioner for the first time, a role Pederson says he's slightly struggling with. But the pitcher certainly did not struggle from the mound this year as he finished with a 14-4 record.
Pederson described what it's like playing fantasy football with other pro players and described it as great for team bonding. Their draft night includes a big party and dinner and said the Dodgers support the fantasy league by giving out the NFL jersey for the Top 15 picks. The Dodgers even encourage their players to wear a jersey of their favorite NFL team for at least one road trip a year.
Hearing Pederson gush about his fantasy league and the players he has on his team was quite refreshing, especially since he's well aware people draft him in their fantasy baseball leagues.
