Veronika Bondarenko
Veronika Bondarenko is an aviation writer for TheStreet and senior editor at TravelHost. A lifelong aisle seat elector who went from aggressively refreshing aggregators to score the cheapest possible flights to looking for ways to build status without spending like a celebrity, she covers the many stories in the airline world with both the critical eye of a traveler and delight of someone who is at her happiest when flying to a new destination.
Heavily influenced by the nature of the Canadian West Coast on which she grew up, Veronika studied English and French at the University of British Columbia before moving to New York City to complete a Master of Journalism degree at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in 2015. Since then, she has had an extensive journalism career covering everything from breaking political news to real estate and fashion for outlets like NBC, The Independent, Refinery29 and Outside Magazine.
Veronika started writing for TheStreet in November 2021 and quickly expanded occasional airline stock coverage into a full travel section with daily reporting of new airline routes, industry news and aviation technology as well as adjacent news around hotels, credit card points, and consumer travel trends.
An avid traveler who has been to every continent except the very cold one on which commercial flights do not land, Veronika is based in NYC but frequently on the move as inspiration for her writing is connected to movement. Her travel hot takes are that Marseille is an unfairly-maligned city and that LaGuardia is the best airport in North America.
