As the Assignments Editor for TheStreet.com, parent company of The Deal, RateWatch and BoardEx, Michael oversees the day-to-day coverage of the stock market and business news. He oversees the operation of the newsroom, managing reporters and editors for both TheStreet and The Deal.
Prior to his role as Assignments Editor, Michael was an Associate Editor for The Deal where he oversaw daily auction and middle market coverage for TheDeal.com. He also managed The Deal's auctions database, which tracks over 1,500 ongoing sale processes and was essential in creating the M&A Tipsheet, a weekly newsletter of The Deal's exclusive coverage of ongoing M&A processes.
Michael started at as a researcher and soon moved to the role of Senior Auctions Reporter where he covered a range of sectors from energy to healthcare to banks to sports and media.
Prior to The Deal he covered business and politics for the Hour Publishing Co. in Norwalk, Conn. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Connecticut.
