Founder of the Washington Center for Politics & Journalism, Terry Michael is a former newspaper reporter and political press secretary. He directs (since 1989) the Center's Politics & Journalism Semester, teaching college journalists about politics. A former press secretary for the Democratic National Committee (1983-87), he is a self-described "libertarian Democrat." A native of Illinois, he has lived on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, since 1975.
