President Donald Trump Orders Pentagon to Plan Military Parade

Donald Trump wants a parade to celebrate U.S. military strength.

Don't be alarmed if you see military tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue in the near future, it's just the Pentagon following orders.

President Donald Trump gave the Defense Department a directive to put on a military parade earlier this year, the Washington Post reported citing two unnamed sources who were at the meeting where the president gave the directive.

"The marching orders were: I want a parade like the one in France," a military official told the Post. "This is being worked at the highest levels of the military."

Trump visited France last year during the country's Bastille Day celebration in Paris where he witnessed uniformed French troops marching down wide avenues along with tanks, armored vehicles, gun trucks and other hardware.

He can be seen in footage from the event saluting as the parade passed.

At least one Congressional Democrat took the opportunity to poke fun at Trump for sparse crowds during his inauguration parade.

There was already a #TrumpParade in DC. Not very well attended the first time, would be a waste of Pentagon time and resources the second time.
