What Does the Apple Watch Series 3 Mean for Your Data Plan?
When it comes to the new Apple Watch Series 3, Apple (AAPL) - Get Report isn't the only one set to pocket some serious lunch money. As the watch will be able to connect directly to cellular without the need to carry that pesky iPhone around, major networks have the opportunity to charge extra fees to get your watch on the grid.
AT&T (T) - Get Report , T-Mobile (TMUS) - Get Report and Verizon (VZ) - Get Report will charge $10 per month for each Apple Watch. The first three months of service will be free of charge.
While Sprint S has yet to announce its plan for the watch, if it wants to stay competitive, it will probably offer something similar.
The Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular carries a price tag of $399 and will be available for pre-order on September 15 and in stores on September 22. With numerous other upgrades, The watch may be a must-have on many an Apple fan's holiday wish list.
