Twitter Refuses to Take Down Trump's 'Newsworthy' Tweet
Twitter (TWTR) - Get Report has refused to take down one of Donald Trump's tweet despite it appearing to be in violation of Twitter's policy.
Over the weekend, Trump took to Twitter to say North Korea "won't be around much longer!"
The tweet seems to be in breach of the social media company's policy that users "may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism."
North Korea's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho called the tweet a declaration of war stating that, following Trump's tweet, "we will have every right to make countermeasures".
Twitter defended the decision to keep Trump's remark online by stating the tweet is of public interest and claimed it will update its public-facing rules in the near future to reflect its "internal policy".
