It looks like the gas prices honeymoon is coming to an end. While we are still more than a dollar below last year's prices, March has seen the price at the pump increase 35 days in a row, the biggest jump since February 2013. So it might be a good time to dust off some of those gas price apps. Here are three of the best free downloads. GasBuddy is a hot favorite, with over 10 million downloads. Different types of fuel are listed by price, distance and fuel type. The user can also update pump prices to win cash or prizes. There's also a good filter option that allows you to find only the stations selling the type of fuel you want. Next up is Gas Guru. Its straightforward and quick to set up, only requiring the phone's location. Stations are ranked by color to show the cheapest prices and get you the best gas deals nearby. Users can't tell the app if the fuel price is incorrect but they can share prices on Facebook. It can also direct you to coffee stops, ATMs and roadside assistance. Don't forget Waze, it's better known for it s traffic features but also has a cheap gas option just off the primary map screen. Stations are found and listed by distance from the car's location. There isn't much interaction with actual gas prices but you can check out what other users have said via Yelp. So make sure you're taking advantage of the best ways to keep your gas costs at record lows.
