British Prime Minister Theresa May will tell tech companies to go "further and faster" removing extremist content during a speech at the United Nations.

Theresa May will discuss the issue with other world leaders, Facebook (FB) - Get Report , Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report and Twitter (TWTR) - Get Report .

May will challenge the companies to find a way to take terrorist material down in two hours, with France and Italy joining the Prime Minister's call for the target.

"The challenge is once it's removed, many people re-post it or there are copies of it across the web," said Kent Walker, General Counsel for Google
