Nissan's CEO Takes a Swipe at Tesla

"You can do the Tesla type of pricing, but we focus more on our customer portfolio"

Nissan (NSANY) has unveiled the 2018 Leaf, a fully electric vehicle with autonomous features and an improved driving range.

The Japanese automaker has priced the vehicle at $30,000 in the company's foray into an increasingly saturated market.

CEO Niroto Saikawa didn't just use the launch event to promote the new vehicle, as he took the opportunity to make a few choice comments about the company's main rival Tesla (TSLA) - Get Report . Saikawa said "You can do the Tesla type of pricing, but we focus more on our customer portfolio."
