WrestleMania Diary Day 2: The Road to The Biggest Event Of Them All
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. (TheStreet) -- Following my adventures from yesterday's first leg of my journey, I knew Saturday would bring even more entertainment and fun, since I would get to see what Santa Clara has to offer for WrestleMania 31 as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) - Get Report hosts its biggest pay-per-view of the year. Silicon Valley hasn't disappointed yet.
The atmosphere has been incredible out here, and it definitely feels like a vacation, even if I'm here for work. Seeing palm trees, sunny skies and the relaxed pace can do wonders for not only the soul, but the mind as well. It really does put you in a great frame of mind, and helps melt all the troubles away, even if only for a few days.
Santa Clara is smack in the heart of Silicon Valley, where you can feel the energy and the innovation of the tech sector come alive. Tech's influence is everywhere -- from the famous El Camino Real to Woz Way in San Jose, technology is at the very heart and soul of this part of California.
Here's the second part of my diary. Since you can't be here with me, this is a little look into the underbelly of Silicon Valley and all the sights and sounds it has it offer.
4:23 a.m.: Whether it's jet lag or excitement, I'm up early for WrestleMania Saturday.
5:42 a.m.: Going to hotel gym to get a little workout in.
6:49 a.m.: Back from the gym (I don't know if you heard me counting, but I did over 1,000) and still no call from Vince McMahon.
7:58 a.m.: Headed to go have a little breakfast, then it's onto WrestleMania Axxess (akin to a giant pop-up shop) to interview some superstars and see the WWE Universe in all of its glory.
8:54 a.m.: Get to Axxess (proper spelling doesn't apply since it's WrestleMania,) and there's like no one here yet. I guess everyone is working off Friday night hangovers still.
9:15 a.m.: I got booed by the fans for taking too long when interviewing A.J. Lee. That's one way to pick up heat from the crowd, I guess.
9:58 a.m.: Ran through interviews with Lee, Tamina Snuka (The Rock's cousin), Darren Young, Curtis Axel and Emma. This should be a good feature piece. I hope.
10:00 a.m.: Realized I needed a Paul Heyman Guy T-shirt. Sorry Paul, I'm the real voice of the voice of the voiceless.
11:48 a.m.: Almost finished writing the feature piece. Then I realized it's WrestleMania weekend, so I turned on the WWE Network to do some more "research."
1:56 p.m.: Still doing research. And by research, I mean old pay-per-view events in documentaries.
2:37 p.m.: Finish the piece finally, which I think came out really well. I'm excited for you guys to read it.
3:14 p.m.: Grab a quick bite to eat and after some exploring, it's time for a nap.
5:37 p.m.: Just woke up from a nap. Have the weird dream that I won't get a Christmas gift this year from D-Von Dudley because I messed up two moves in February. I think the jet lag is finally setting in.
6:46 p.m.: Still no call from Vince. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute.
8:18 p.m.: Enjoyed a nice meal, a rather low key event compared to last year. Probably for the best that my life doesn't flash before my eyes again.
10:00 p.m.: Went to the hotel bar, where it went from a quiet night to loud screaming "Yes!" chants in a hurry. If that doesn't get you excited for WrestleMania, you may need to check your pulse.
12:40 a.m.: Got back from the bar, had a great night and a very relaxing and enjoyable day two of my WrestleMania trip.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.....
