beating third-quarter earnings estimates.
The company also reported smartphone shipments of 14.2 million, slightly better than analyst estimates of 14 million.

jumped 7% in pre-market trading to $12.79 as the company posted stronger-than-expected fourth quarter earnings.
The video game company, known for franchises like
NBA 2K11
and
Red Dead Redemption
, generated earnings of 58 cents per share, up from a loss of 30 cents per share during the same period last year.
Revenue also grew 32% to $373.7 million.
Oracle

shot up 4.7% in pre-market trading to $31.65, as the company reported
second-quarter results well ahead of analyst expectations

The software giant reported an adjusted profit of $2.6 billion, or 51 cents a share, on revenue of $8.65 billion. Analysts were looking for earnings of 46 cents a share on revenue of $8.34 billion.

announced Thursday that it is
shutting down several non-core web properties
, including search site AltaVista.
Earlier this week, the Sunnyvale, Calif.-search giant said that it was cutting 4% of its workforce, or about 600 jobs.
Hulu
said Thursday that it expects to generate 2010 revenue of $260 million, ahead of projections. The online video company posted revenue of $108 million last year.
