Red Hat Rises as it Turns a Profit

Linux operating system distributor Red Hat (RHAT) was up 2.5% after meeting Street estimates with a first-quarter profit of $600,000, or break-even on a per share basis, vs. a loss of 2 cents a share in the year-ago period.

Revenue was up 18% to $25.6 million from $21.7 million a year ago.
