Motorola

has reached an agreement with

Microsoft

to deploy Bing search and mapping services on Motorola devices powered by

Google's

(GOOG) - Get Report

Android.

The new offering, Motorola said in a press release, will launch on smartphones in China in the first quarter.

Motorola said customers will get a pre-loaded Bing bookmark on their mobile browsers and an enhanced search widget with Bing integration.

"We believe that consumer choice is one of the most critical components to ensuring a rich and seamless client experience," said Christy Wyatt, corporate vice president of software and services, Motorola Mobile Devices. "Motorola and Microsoft have enjoyed a longstanding collaboration and the addition of Bing services to our Android-based smartphones in China is another important step in empowering our end-users."

Motorola's move follows shortly after the company sealed a similar deal to let consumers in China use

Baidu

(BIDU) - Get Report

, among others, as the default Web search instead of Google on Android-based phones,

The partnerships come amid Google's dispute with China over censorship, which, if it leads to Google withdrawing from the country, could cause big headaches for Motorola. The company is banking on its ties to Google's Android and its sales in China to help in a big turnaround effort,
