Microsoft Pushes Up Win Phone 7 Developer Payouts

Microsoft's
(MSFT) - Get Report
has adjusted the payout schedule for developers publishing applications on its Windows Phone 7 platform.
Microsoft had originally planned on paying developers starting in February, but has pushed up this date to the end of January, according to a blog post by Todd Brix, a senior director at Microsoft who works with app developers.

Microsoft also rolled out tools Thursday for developers to track their application's performance within the Windows Phone 7 marketplace.

Microsoft currently counts more than 18,000 developers who have signed on to publish for Windows Phone 7. The marketplace hosts around 4,000 applications, up from 1,000 in late October.
